We shot our demo video for Fare/Share today with the help of the Dr. Cool creative geniuses, Greg (actor/editor), Alex (director), Dustin (producer) and Matt (DP/camera).
Our goal for this 90 second video was to show how Fare/Share, a new iphone app that helps New Yorkers connect with each other to share cabs, would work in a typical situation. We added some funny elements and know that the Dr. Cool team will turn this into (maybe?) a viral video. (Their latest video is sure to go viral.)
Also, we want to thank the owner of Peter McManus Cafe (Bar/Pub) for letting us shoot take over his bar this morning.
Maddy (my lovely wife) was great in her role as “Samantha”, the girl in a rush to get to her concert. She has a newfound respect for actors, and the patience that is required to shoot films. I was happy to revisit filmmaking and be involved in a fun production. I kind of enjoyed my stress-free role as Executive Producer, though I had to constantly make sure the app was working and showing the right screen for each shot!
Oh, and we think our video is one of the few to feature not one but two awesome greyhounds! Sagan (ours, yes named after Carl), and Jun (the white one, who we were dogsitting this weekend). They were real sports and agreed to lie on the couch for the entire shoot, dozing off every now and then.
Look for the demo video on our website by the end of the week: www.faresharenyc.com.
